It is the policy of the Livonia Police Department to officially recognize its members for the outstanding performance of their duties. Official commendations shall be awarded to deserving personnel in recognition of, and appreciation for, outstanding acts of public service and performance, which contribute to the goals of LPD. These awards are not to be construed as automatic citations, but shall be awarded after thorough evaluation of each nominee.
