On August 25, 2021, we celebrated the retirement of our longest working crossing guard, Mary Ann Schils. A ceremony was held at the Livonia Police Department in which we honored Mary Ann and she was presented with her retirement plaque by Acting Chief Goralski. Mary Ann has been a Livonia resident since 1967 and has served as a Livonia Police Department crossing guard for 36 years, since 1985. During this ceremony, Sergeant Stacy Hayne was in attendance and it was discovered that back when Sergeant Stacy Hayne was in elementary school, Mary Ann was her crossing guard.

Mary Ann has dedicated her life to our community and the children of Livonia. On behalf of the Livonia Police Department, we would like to wish Mary Ann a happy and healthy retirement. Congratulations Mary Ann!
