From our police officers to our civilian positions we offer many rewarding career paths often overlooked by qualified candidates. A job with LPD isn’t what you see on police television shows. Our focus is on providing long-term careers that keep our community safe.

The Livonia Police Department is hiring Police Service Aides (PSA) and Police Officers! For an individual pursuing a law enforcement career, a Police Service Aide is a great opportunity to learn more about the profession and prepare yourself to further your career. Our PSA’s work at the inside positions of the Police Department by taking police reports answering phone calls and working our jail. While working as a PSA, your education will be paid for by the City of Livonia. Qualified PSA’s will be sponsored to attend the Wayne County Regional Police Academy to become a Police Officer subject to the operating needs of the department. A qualified PSA will have all academy expenses paid and receive their salary while in the academy! You must take and pass the MCOLES physical agility test to qualify for the position.
